Human Pelvis Models
Anatomical models of the male and female pelvis, pelvic organs, pelvic musculature, sacroiliac and pubic symphysis joints, lumbosacral joint
The human pelvic girdle is a true girdle in that bone encompasses the circumference connected by the sacroiliac joints and the pubic symphysis joint. The pelvis is comprised of the two innominate bones and the sacrum/coccyx bones. The pelvic girdle functions to support internal organs (intestines, bladder, sex organs) connect the trunk or lumbar spine to the femur bones, serve as an attachment site for several muscles and therefore involved in movements, and help maintain balance and load transfer during activity.
Anatomical human pelvic models help in teaching the basic anatomy of the pelvis and associated structures, movement relationships between the lumbar spine/trunk and pelvis, the location of internal organs and how they are affected by conditions such as pregnancy, the differences between genders, uniqueness’s of the male and female reproductive systems, the orientation of the digestive system, etc.
